The Shiftdesk smartphone app

With the Shiftdesk mobile app, your team has everything important right on their smartphone: their own schedule, time tracking, leave requests, shift swaps, and messages. The app is free for iOS and Android.

The app is optimized for smartphones and also runs on tablets.

Signing in

Sign-in uses email address and password — the same credentials as on the web. Here is how your team gets access:

1. As an admin, you create the employee and send an invitation (see Creating and inviting employees).
2. The employee sets their password once via the invitation link.
3. They then sign in to the app with email + password.

If two-factor authentication is active, the employee additionally enters the 6-digit code after the password (see Setting up MFA).

What employees can do in the app

• View the schedule, set availability, swap shifts, and pick up open shifts — App: schedule, shift swaps & open shifts
• Clock in and out, view their hours account, and request absences — App: tracking time & requesting absences
• Read messages and announcements, receive push notifications — App: chat, announcements & push notifications
• Manage profile, documents, and settings — App: account, profile & settings

Which functions someone sees depends on their role (see Roles and permissions explained). Some functions also depend on the booked plan.

Language

The app interface is currently in German. More languages are in preparation.

Tip

Invite a test person yourself and install the app once from an employee's perspective — that way you see exactly what your team sees.
