Recurring shifts (series)

Recurring shifts (series)

When an employee regularly works the same shift, you create a series. Shiftdesk then generates the individual shifts automatically for the chosen period.

Creating a series

  1. Go to Schedule and click an empty cell.
  2. In the dialog, turn on the Repeat toggle.
  3. Configure the series:
FieldDescription
FrequencyDaily, weekly, every two weeks or monthly
WeekdaysFor weekly repetition: Mon to Sun individually selectable
Start dateFirst date of the series
End dateLast date or "no end"
TemplateOptionally a shift template
  1. Confirm with Create series.

Individual exceptions

You can adjust or delete any single shift in the series without touching the whole series.

  1. Click the affected shift in the schedule.
  2. Change the time, break or note and save with Change only this shift.
Deleted single shifts count as an exception and are not restored when the series is later changed.

Changing or ending a series

  1. Open a shift in the series and click Edit series.
  2. Choose whether the change applies from this shift onward or to the entire series.
  3. To end it, set an end date or choose End series from today.

Notes

  • Existing individual exceptions are kept when the series is ended.
  • In case of conflicts with vacation or absence, affected days are automatically left out and flagged in the schedule.
  • After creating the series, check ArbZG conformity; see ArbZG warnings.
